Leadership - Act-On

About Us
Leadership
Raghu Raghavan, Chief Executive Officer

Raghu is the product visionary and driving force behind the company. A seasoned entrepreneur, he led the initial design of the Act-On service and the development of its core technology and infrastructure.

Previously, he was the co-founder and CTO of Responsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKTG), the industry leader in email and lifecycle marketing solutions for high-end retailers. The company was backed by Accel, Foundation Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Sigma Partners.

Raghu got started down the entrepreneurial path when he quit a cushy job and took a giant pay cut to join a small startup named Mentor Graphics, that had a small team of smart, passionate people and zero revenue. He participated in its frantic growth through a very successful IPO (NASDAQ: MENT) and revenue of well over $400M by the time he left 7 years later.

Raghu holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

Shawn Naggiar, Chief Revenue Officer

Shawn is responsible for everything related to creating, managing, and growing revenue at the company. He joined Act-On in early 2008 as employee #7, and was a key architect in creating the company's go-to-market strategy. He built the revenue and service sides of the business from the ground up, helping make Act-On one of the hottest SaaS companies in the online marketing technology space.

Prior to joining Act-On, Shawn spent six years in sales and business development at WebEx Communications. Prior to WebEx, Shawn held various sales management positions with RedCreek Communications (acquired by SonicWall), WorldTalk Communications (acquired by Tumbleweed), Finjan Inc., and Rainmaker Systems.

Atri Chatterjee, Chief Marketing Officer

Atri is responsible for all things marketing at the company. Although he is the most recent executive to join the company, his association with the company as an advisor and an early customer goes back to when the company was founded. He wasn't satisfied with helping the Act-On revolution from the outside, he just had to jump in!

His more than 20 years of experience spans marketing, product management, business development and engineering at high growth innovative companies ranging from start-up ventures to large public companies. Most recently, he was Vice President and GM of the User Authentication business at Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC). Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing at McAfee, Inc. (now part of Intel) and prior to that was the CMO of Secure Computing Corporation until its purchase by McAfee.

Atri was also the first VP of Marketing at Responsys, where he helped create the first business plan, raise several rounds of funding and establish that company as a pioneer SaaS application for email marketing. He has also held senior marketing roles at other category leading companies like CipherTrust, McAfee.com, Netscape and Clarify.

Atri holds BS and MS degrees in computer science from Washington State University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to WebEx, Jay was the director of Pre-Sales & Services at Responsys. Before that, he held the position of Director Global Alliances at Oracle, where he managed technology partnerships for global partners like SAP, Lawson, Remedy, Peoplesoft and EMC.

Jay holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Mangalore University, India.

Henry Harbury, Vice President, Engineering

Henry manages the 0's and 1's around here. He impresses his friends and family by claiming that he does "cross-platform software engineering and object oriented application design blah blah blah". He impresses the rest of us by getting clean releases out every 2 weeks, and by keeping the platform humming along smoothly in spite of Act-On's breakneck growth in customers and traffic.

Previously, Henry was the founder of TeamTek, a software engineering consulting firm. Before that, he was at Responsys, where he led the analytics development effort. Prior to Responsys, he was the product suite architect for the ADM business unit of Merant, where his responsibilities included the PVCS products.

Henry has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, with expertise in software engineering and numerical modeling. He has published refereed academic research. He has also contributed to the IETF WebDAV Delta-V working group specification.

Troy Strahl, Vice President, Customer Success

Troy is responsible for the overall post-sales success of Act-On customers. He brings over 15 years of senior leadership experience in services, operations and technical support, and his teams have earned several industry recognized awards for quality.

Before joining Act-On, Troy spent nine years at WebEx (later Cisco WebEx), where he built and scaled up global customer operations for their SaaS conferencing solutions. Prior to this, he built the support organization at @Home Network (later Excite@Home) from the ground up, and matured it to service over two million customers, and was instrumental in launching and managing new international ventures.

Troy holds a BS in Business Management from San Jose State University in California.
