The Act-On Marketing Service e-mail delivery infrastructure is built around the market-leading PowerMTA server, which makes it easy to adopt the latest authentication specifications and to comply with policies for accountable outbound e-mail delivery.

Authentication

To ensure maximum delivery and help separate legitimate e-mail from fraud, we use the latest authentication protocols senders. Mail servers provide the automated stamping and sending of messages as required by Microsoft's Sender ID and Yahoo's DomainKeys specifications.

If you have an account with Goodmail Systems, our delivery engine will automatically insert necessary Certified E-mail tokens. This helps your messages bypass various content and spam filters and land directly in your customer's inbox.

Delivery Policies

We follow the delivery policies of all major Internet service providers (e.g., AOL, MSN, Yahoo), each of whom has different preferences and optimal settings for parameters such as:

  • Number of simultaneous connections
  • Number of messages per connection
  • Number of delivery attempts per hour (throttling)
  • Retry period and bounce period
  • Authentication method

Reputation Monitoring

Sender reputation is one of the major factors used by modern spam filters in deciding whether your messages are delivered to a recipient's inbox.

We do real-time sender reputation monitoring in order to be notified immediately if a recipient is blocking your message due to a perceived issue with your domain. If this happens , the e-mail delivery engine can stop delivering mail and/or apply a new delivery policy for any remaining attempts.

In addition, we maintain relationships with major Internet service providers like AOL, Yahoo, and Hotmail, so that if an issue does arise, our team can work with you and the ISP to get the issue resolved.
